I'll start out by telling you that my project is not exactly a building, but more of a boat. I own a 1985 Jefferson, 52' CPMY. I bought it knowing that I was going to perform a complete refit of the boat before I did any serious family touring. I drove it up from Ft Meyers Beach, FL at a time when the weather was not exactly boat friendly, but this was fortunate as I discovered that I would definitely need insulation from both the weather and external noise. Of course, as with everything I've tackled so far, I did a lot of homework determining how to best accomplish my goals and what products would be best. Foam It Green spray won hands down by quality, ease of use, cost and support. And of course being "green" did help too. I have finished the aft cabin so far and couldn't be more pleased with the results. As it has now gotten cold in MD, where she is in dry dock, working in the aft cabin is an absolute joy compared to previous years in the freezing temps. Doing the refit myself is taking way longer than I would like, but it's being done to my standards, so I will just have to settle for the "hope to be done by" date of early next summer.

I will say that just like the videos and written comments, I was as nervous as a duck landing in a Louisiana gator farm. However, just as everyone said, if I followed the simple instructions I would be a pro in no time. Well, maybe not a pro, but doing a great job and very happy with the outcome. I am now finished with electrical wiring, plumbing is next and then I can refasten all of the wall woodworking.

I've got a little left in the first two cans, so I use that to flush the hoses about every other week, so the hoses stay in good shape. I will likely use the last two cans for the amidships and galley areas, then need to order more to complete the forward cabin.

So basically, yes I know I'm going to save big on energy costs, yes the drafts are eliminated, I feel good about the future value but we'll see for sure after the survey next summer.
