Right now my main focus is on insulation for better comfort and energy cost
reduction during winter. Specifically:
1. Spray foam 1 inch under floor in crawlspace- 40% complete. 1750 sq foot
home at 8,000 feet in Colorado, currently no insulation in crawlspace.
2. Add R21 batt insulation after spray foam. - 10% complete
3. Replace remaining windows (5 left).
4. New front door.
As a side note I try and validate all the upgrades I do. The inside floor
temperature in my sons room prior to spray foam was 50 degrees, outside air
temp -10, crawlspace temp 27. After spray foam the next morning with the
same OAT and crawlspace temp the floor temperature was 57 degrees. That is
an impressive 7 degree increase. Since then I have installed the R21 Batt
but have not had a super cold day to test the final results.
Thanks for checking in. Love the product.
One improvement I would suggest. The one piece protective suit is great,
but the sleeve length could be a few inches longer. After spraying foam
under the house I end up with a 2 inch gap between the end of the suit and
the glove, and henceforth have a 2 inch "spray foam wrist" that needs lots
of cleaning.
