Customer Top 10 Questions & Answers
What projects do I use Foam It Green High Density for?
Patching and repairing spray foam roofs or burying pipes underground. It can also be used to support floating slabs of concrete.
Can I use these kits for an entire roof?
Low pressure kits should not be used to spray an entire roof because they do not provide as even/flat of a coat as a high pressure system. Flat is important so you don’t have any pitch pockets to hold water. Low pressure kits like Foam It Green High Density are for patching or repairing a section of roof, or for very small roof projects.
Do I have to paint the foam?
UV rays (direct sunlight) degrade foam. It is important to coat any exposed foam with an elastomeric rubber roof coat paint (available at all building stores) as soon as you can after the foam has cured. General rule of thumb is that you never spray more foam than you can cover with paint the same day. Reapply the roof paint as per the paint manufacturer’s recommendation.
High Density foam has a higher R-value per inch than regular Closed Cell foam - should I use HD in my walls instead?
The correct closed cell foam to use in the interior of the home is the regular Foam It Green because it is ASTM E84 Class I fire retardant insulation. High Density is used mainly for outdoor foaming. For .7 more R-value per inch, High Density is less economical. If you need more R-value, add an additional inch of closed cell foam.
How much foam comes in the kit?
The Foam It 120 High Density comes with enough component to produce 120 theoretical board feet of high density spray foam.
What color is the foam?
Foam it Green is the only low pressure kit to dye the B component blue so when it mixes with the yellow A component, you get green foam. That shows you the mix is on-ratio, so you’re not wasting and money, component, or time. It is a light green and easily covered with paint.
Do I have to use the whole kit on the day I open it?
Foam it Green 120HD kits are designed to be used within 30 days of being opened. If you do not complete your project the day you first use the kit, simply follow the shut down for reuse instruction on page 8 of the instruction manual. Failure to follow these instructions can stop your kit from operating correctly the next time you go to use it, which may lead to the purchase of replacement parts.
How much is shipping?
It depends on which kits you need, how many, and where they are going. You can sign in and put together an order to see exactly what it will cost, or you can call us toll-free at 1-800-516-0949.
Do I need anything else to operate this kit- like an air compressor?
These kits contain everything you need to spray the foam. The pressurized nitrogen makes the foam come out of the tanks, so you don’t need an external power source. This makes Foam it Green kits portable and disposable.

We finally used the spray foam on my underground pipes for our wood furnace. Your product is tremendous. The instructions were complete and straightforward and the product worked as advertised. We have a very long run from the furnace to the house and were losing about 15 degrees in heat before we applied the product. We are now losing less than 3% of the heat. What a difference it makes!

Foam it Green had the perfect answer. Their high density spray foam roofing gave me a leak free roof, a solution to the ponding water that caused it, and insulation. An added benefit was the lowered air conditioning bills due to the cool roof.

I love the sprayer because it was strong and reusable. Most foam products have a lousy sprayer that dies after the first use. This one works great and made working on the roof easy.
