What will Foam It Green Spray Foam Insulation Stick To?
Foam it Green spray foam insulation is incredibly versatile and offers an exceptional insulation option for any home or building. With a minimal amount of preparation, even the most novice user can completely re-insulate an attic, or spray a first layer of insulation in a new construction home, in just a few hours. However, there are certain temperature and material considerations that need to be taken into account before beginning any spray foam project.
For starters, while Foam it Green insulation does a fantastic job of bonding with most materials, there are some surfaces that it won’t adhere well to, like extra slick materials, such as plastic sheeting. Other common construction materials, though, like wood, metal, cement and brick, pose no problem, and both open and closed cell sprays should easily adhere to these structural elements to create an airtight seal.
Surfaces should also be free of any excess dirt and debris, as these can cause the foam to stick to the loose material and not the structural components, leading to a less effective seal. In addition, surfaces to be sprayed should be free of any oils or grease, and of course ceilings and walls should be completely dry before you begin.
Lastly, Foam it Green spray foam should be applied in a moderate temperature range, between 65 & 85° F.
